The following were noted at the most recent meeting of the Student Association Monday.
Campus-wide Beer Bike Coordinator Brian Henderson reviewed the Beer Bike poll results and announced that this year's Beer Bike will retain the same format as last year's event.
The Rice Memorial Center Renovations Bill, which created a committee to analyze possible future renovations to the RMC, was passed with a majority vote.
SA President Patrick McAnaney and Treasurer Tiffany Wu introduced a constitutional amendment that would clarify the procedure of requesting blanket tax funds. The senate will vote on the measure at their next meeting.
Parliamentarian Jonathan Stewart introduced two constitutional amendments. The first would change the possible number of SA presidents from co-presidents to one person and the second would fix a grammatical error.
Will Rice College Senator Hannah Thalenberg updated the SA about her proposal to get Rice professors to post lectures on iTunesU, which has been under discussion since last spring. The plan aims to acclimate faculty to post educational content on Rice's YouTube page. When there is enough digital content on that site, the deans will decide if Rice wants to work with iTunesU.
Hanszen College Senator Travis Smith updated the SA about his on-campus parking project. He reported that the administration wants to build a parking garage, but currently no donors have offered to finance it.
The following clubs were approved: Mock Trial, Sox in a Box and DARE.
McAnaney, a Brown College senior, announced that the SA's charity drive for Haiti's earthquake victims has raised $3,214.52. Lovett College has donated the most money. Lovett's $271 beat Baker College's donations by $1.50.?Secretary Philip Tarpley reiterated that SA T-shirts are for sale for $5 at the meetings, or through sign-up sheets located in each colleges' commons.
The SA will meet this Monday, Feb. 8 at 9 p.m. in the Farnsworth Pavilion.
